There is good news for fans of the Percy Jackson book series, as Rick Riordan, the author of this best-selling book series, has announced a new book. In this article, we’ll talk about the release date of the upcoming Percy Jackson book 7!
If there is one thing you can say about the Percy Jackson series by author Rick Riordan, it is that he sure knows how to craft an intriguing world combination of myths with modern times. Not only his series, Percy Jackson & The Olympians, but his other series also does a great job at combining mythical stories and bringing them into the modern world.
The last book in the Percy Jackson series was released in 2023, titled The Chalice of the Gods. This book came out roughly fourteen years after the fifth book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, titled The Last Olympian, which was published in 2009.
Based on this, fans were admittedly excited to know whether there would be a seventh book in the series. And it was confirmed recently that Percy Jackson book 7, titled “Wrath of the Triple Goddess,” is coming out soon!
Percy Jackson Book 7: Wrath of the Triple Goddess Release Date
In late September 2023, soon after the release of The Chalice of the Gods during a launch event, it was announced that the seventh book in the series would be released on September 24, 2024. It would be an understatement to say that fans were surprised and elated by this news.
The first five books of this series were published between 2005 and 2009. These books were The Lightning Thief (2005), Sea of Monsters (2006), The Titan’s Curse (2007), The Battle of the Labyrinth (2008), and The Last Olympian (2009).
As we mentioned, there was a fourteen-year gap before the sixth book in the series, The Chalice of the Gods, came out in 2023. So, imagine everyone’s surprise when the sixth book came out, followed by an announcement of a seventh coming in roughly about a year.

Of course, the author Rick Riordan didn’t retire or take a break in these fourteen years. He was busy working on other books and completing all his other series set in the same world. It’s just that he started working on a new book in The Olympians series and brought all the focus back on Percy Jackson.
Percy’s adventure in book seven will see him continuing to search for recommendation letters for college. He is now a high school senior, so he must get these letters. For someone who is half god, you can bet this isn’t going to be an easy process.
The author hasn’t given much away about the new book yet but has hinted that two specific characters will appear in the book. One is Hecate, the Greek goddess of magic and daughter of Asteria and Perses, while the other is Mrs. O’Leary, Percy’s pet hellhound.
At this point, it is unknown if there will be more books in the series after the seventh book is released. But fans can rest easy that Percy’s story will be continued through book seven, and it’s highly likely that more books will follow!
What is the Plot of Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series?
The plot of Percy Jackson and the Olympians focuses on a boy named Perseus “Percy” Jackson. He once thought he was an ordinary boy but eventually discovers that he is the son of none other than the Greek God Poseidon.
However, his father was never in his life because he was not supposed to be born after Poseidon made a pact with three other gods not to father any more kids because of how strong they were.
Eventually, Percy goes to Camp Half-Blood, a training facility on Long Island, NY, where other demigods live. He meets two friends there. One is Annabeth Chase, the daughter of Athena, and the other is Grover Underwood, his best friend who turned out to be a satyr and his guardian.
In just the first book, Percy has to clear his name because Zeus, of all gods, suspects him to have stolen his Master Bolt. If he wants to live, he must find the bolt from the real culprits, bring it back to Olympus, and deliver it to Zeus.
In the first five books, Percy and his friends endure many trials and tribulations. They must protect not only the camp but also the world.
By the end of the fifth book, Percy, Annabeth, and all the other young demigods team up to stop a dangerous enemy threatening to destroy the mortal world and Olympus. Even after successfully thwarting this dangerous foe, Percy’s life remains complicated.
In the sixth book, The Chalice of the Gods, Percy wants to go to New Rome University, but he soon finds out it’s not that easy.
Poseidon tells Percy that he’ll have to complete three quests for the gods and get their letters of recommendation. These recommendation letters will help him secure admission to the University. Annabeth, his girlfriend, and Grover, his best friend, agree to help him on these quests.
This plot will be continued in the upcoming Percy Jackson book 7. Depending on how much time this book covers, another book might follow and showcase Percy’s attempts to get these letters so he can get into college.
The Percy Jackson books do a great job of bringing Greek mythology to modern times and introducing them to a new audience. These are targeted toward children and young adults, but many adults enjoy the series and continue to enjoy it to this day.
