If you’re a fan of horror novels, then you’re likely no stranger to Stephen King. The prolific author has written dozens of books throughout his career and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. In fact, several new Stephen King books have been released, and a few are set to be released soon.

One of King’s upcoming releases is a collection of short stories titled “You Like It Darker.” According to his official website, this collection will feature twelve stories, many of which have never been published. If you’re a fan of King’s short fiction, you won’t want to miss this one. The stories promise to be some of his best yet, with plenty of twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat.

One of Stephen King’s most highly anticipated new books was the recently released “Holly,” featuring Holly Gibney, a character from the Bill Hodges trilogy. The book was released in September 2023, and although it has received mixed reviews, most readers loved it.

As for the upcoming and new Stephen King books in 2024, the author has only one book scheduled to come out this year. This can change, of course, because King has been known to be a terrific author who loves to write!

Stephen King 2024 Releases:

At the time of writing this, Stephen King is gearing up for the release of his new book, “You Like It Darker.” The book is a collection of 12 short stories, many of which were never published before and some of his best ever. It is scheduled to come out on May 21, 2024.

Here’s what the synopsis of the book says:

You like it darker? Fine, so do I,” writes Stephen King in the afterword to this magnificent new collection of twelve stories that delve into the darker part of life—both metaphorical and literal. King has, for half a century, been a master of the form, and these stories, about fate, mortality, luck, and the folds in reality where anything can happen, are as rich and riveting as his novels, both weighty in theme and a huge pleasure to read. King writes to feel “the exhilaration of leaving ordinary day-to-day life behind,” and in You Like It Darker, readers will feel that exhilaration too, again and again.

“Two Talented Bastids” explores the long-hidden secret of how the eponymous gentlemen got their skills.

In “Danny Coughlin’s Bad Dream,” a brief and unprecedented psychic flash upends dozens of lives, Danny’s most catastrophically.

In “Rattlesnakes,” a sequel to Cujo, a grieving widower travels to Florida for respite and instead receives an unexpected inheritance—with major strings attached.

In “The Dreamers,” a taciturn Vietnam vet answers a job ad and learns that there are some corners of the universe best left unexplored.

“The Answer Man” asks if prescience is good luck or bad and reminds us that a life marked by unbearable tragedy can still be meaningful.

Who is Stephen King?

If you are a fan of horror novels, then you have definitely heard of Stephen King. He is one of the most prolific authors of our time, having written over 65 novels and over 200 short stories. King’s work has been adapted into numerous films, TV shows, and even comic books.

Born in Portland, Maine, in 1947, Stephen King began writing at a young age. His first published work was a short story called “I Was a Teenage Grave Robber,” which appeared in a fanzine when he was just 18 years old. In 1974, King published his first novel, “Carrie,” which was a huge success and was later adapted into a film.

After 1974, when Carrie was published, the author released a new book almost every year, with just a few exceptions. There have only been a few years when there wasn’t a new Stephen King book coming out!

King’s best-selling novels include “The Shining,” which tells the story of a family trapped in a haunted hotel, “Pet Sematary,” a classic horror tale exploring the dangers of bringing the dead back to life, “It,” which follows a group of friends who are terrorized by a shape-shifting monster, “Misery,” and “The Stand.” He is known for his ability to create vivid, terrifying worlds and characters that stay with readers long after they have finished the book.

In addition to his horror novels, King has also written in other genres, such as crime fiction and science fiction. His novel “The Green Mile“ was adapted into a successful film starring Tom Hanks, “The Dark Tower“ was turned into a series of comic books and also got a movie adaptation, and his sci-fi book, “11/22/63,” was adapted into a television series.

Although Stephen King is a master of horror and suspense, he also excels at writing in other genres, like science fiction. His work has inspired countless writers and filmmakers, and his influence can be seen in popular culture today. If you are a fan of horror, then you owe it to yourself to check out some of his best-selling novels.

Conclusion

There you have it! That brings us to the end of the article. Being one of the best authors of all time, Stephen King is a name that everyone in the literary world is familiar with. If you love reading books, there’s no way you haven’t read at least one book from this master storyteller.

Although the author is known for writing novels at a fast pace, there seems to be only one book scheduled to be released in 2024. However, this can change as the year has just begun, and new announcements can be made easily.

So, for now, when it comes to Stephen King 2024 releases, there’s only one book scheduled to come out, which is titled, You Like It Darker.
