Fans of Navessa Allen are over the moon after the announcement that the Lights Out book series is getting a TV adaptation at Netflix.
The book series, which is called the Into Darkness series, comprises three dark romance novels. The first book, Lights Out, sold over a million copies and topped many bestseller lists. It remained on the New York Times list for a full year. The book also became a viral sensation on TikTok, as fans fell in love with its dark romance, suspense, and intrigue.
The second book, Caught Up, which was released last year, also became an instant bestseller and debuted at the #1 spot on the New York Times Bestseller list.
The third book in the series, Game On, has been announced and is scheduled for release on March 31, 2026. The novels have a loyal fanbase, and the news of the adaptation has sparked further interest in the series.
Navessa took to Instagram, teasing the fans, saying, “I have always been asked if the Lights Out book series could be a movie. Hmm! I don’t know; I have always pictured it as a TV series!”
What Will Be The Plot of the Lights Out TV Series?

The Lights Out book series blurs the boundaries between reality and fantasy. In the first book, we follow Aly, a trauma nurse who harbours some wild, dark desires for “Faceless Man,” a masked TikTok personality. One drunken night, she leaves a comment on his page, and he takes her up on the offer.
They start a consensual relationship, acting out their stalking fantasies. Unbeknownst to them, someone else has taken a fancy to Aly, and he harbours more sinister fantasies. Suddenly, the couple finds themselves thrust into the dark world of serial predators.
In the second book, a dark mafia romance unfolds where Aly’s cousin, Nico “Junior” Trocci, a mafia enforcer, falls for Lauren, a cam girl and sex advocate. His curiosity and desire for her turn into a dark obsession.

It was announced that Navessa Allen will serve as an executive producer. She will be joined by Hannah Schneider, who will serve as the showrunner, writer, and executive producer. She is known for her work on Waterfront, Why Women Kill, and Accused.
Also joining the project will be Peter Chernin and Tracey Cook as executive producers.
Although there has been no official casting news, fans are already nominating the actors they would love to see playing the lead roles.
When is the Lights Out TV Series Releasing?
The news was just announced, and they are currently working on the script.
Given the normal production cycle, we can expect to see this TV series around late 2027 or early 2028.
However, this is just speculation. Sometimes novels are optioned for adaptation, but the project never takes off. But since Navessa Allen’s Lights Out is one of the most popular books in recent years, I am confident the series will be made, and it’s likely to be a priority project for Netflix!
