You see, Verity Crawford was in a mysterious accident which left her unable to move and not able to write. So, Lowen moves into the Crawfords’ eerie, upscale home to dig through Verity’s notes—only to stumble across a manuscript that reveals dark secrets Verity never meant for anyone to see.

This unfinished manuscript contains dark secrets about Verity’s life, past, and what she has done and hidden from her husband.

As Lowen learns more about the family and the author from her writing, she has to decide if Verity’s writing is just a work of fiction or if she is a psychopath who has written an autobiography, noting every event in vivid detail and her motivations behind it.
