BookTok is buzzing following the news that Prime Video is adapting Chloe Walsh’s Boys of Tommen book series. It is no secret that the book series has loyal fans who have been hyping the books on TikTok. Most of them described the book series as addictive and binge-worthy.
Chloe Walsh is known for her ability to capture tear-jerking stories with a lot of realism. Fans love how she manages to balance harrowing stories while adding a glimmer of hope and a touch of fun banter. She is the queen of emotional rollercoasters!
The Boys of Tommen series consists of 6 contemporary romance novels. The latest book, Releasing 10, was released back in May 2025. The books are set in the fictional town of Ballylaggin in County Cork, Ireland. They follow the lives of a tight-knit friend group as they attend Tommen College, an elite, private school.
Each book focuses on a different couple and what they are experiencing. From sports, mental health, bullying, and family drama to hot, sizzling first-time romance, the Tommen book series has it all.
Regarding the adaptation, it was revealed that Prime Video will develop the first two novels of the series—Binding 13 and Keeping 13—into a TV series. According to Prime Video’s international content chief, Nicole Clemens, if the TV adaptation of the first two novels does well, they might develop the whole book series.
Walsh took to Instagram to celebrate the news, posting a picture of the script by Poppy Cogan. In a press release, she thanked the fans for their passionate reaction to the book series.
She went on to say that she is thrilled; “Everyone behind this production and book shares my passion for telling this story authentically means the world to me.” It was already announced that she is set to be one of the series’s executive producers.
What will be the Plot of the Boys of Tommen TV Series About?
Well, this is a new adult romance saga that follows a group of friends attending the same prestigious private college. If you have read the books, then you know that they have some dark, heavy themes. The books broach real-life issues such as mental health struggles, abuse, trauma, and many more.
The first book, Binding 13, focuses on 17-year-old rugby player Johnny Kavanagh, who is hiding a serious injury that could end his career. He meets the shy 15-year-old Shannon Lynch, who is dealing with a traumatic home life. They struggle to keep their secrets as they navigate their undeniable chemistry.
The second book, Keeping 13, offers an emotionally intense conclusion to Johnny and Shannon’s story as they face the consequences of their secrets.
If you haven’t read the book, or you have read it and want a refresher, here’s the official synopsis of the first book in the series:
Johnny Kavanagh is the definition of popular. He is an all-star rugby player with loads of friends, which means he should be enjoying the many perks of his life. But what people don’t know is that he has been dealing with a painful injury that could halt the magnificent trajectory of his career. This means he has no time for distractions or mistakes. Especially not a girlfriend.
Shannon Lynch has been bullied all her life. She is shy and would rather hide herself away to make it through school. But when she arrives at Tommen College for a fresh start, she meets the notorious Johnny Kavanagh on her first day in a not-so-romantic way.
What follows is a complicated friendship that turns into undeniable chemistry. It seems that Shannon won’t be able to hold onto the anonymous status she once hoped for. But maybe that’s alright?
Johnny won’t give up on Shannon. No matter what it might cost them both.

There is something about the characters in these books that really draws you in. By the end of the books, you will find yourself so protective of the characters.
