Season 3 just dropped today; Season 4 is already in production, and I genuinely cannot think of a better time to be a fan of this show. Netflix really isn’t playing around with Silver Falls.
Season 3 of My Life with the Walter Boys, based on Ali Novak’s bestselling novel, premiered on Netflix on August 6, 2026, with all ten episodes dropping at once. If that wasn’t exciting enough, the streamer had already confirmed at its May 2026 Upfronts presentation that a fourth season is officially on the way, with filming already underway in Alberta, Canada.
The love triangle continues. The Walter boys are back. And Jackie Howard is about to have the messiest season yet.
What Happened in Seasons 1 and 2?
For anyone who needs a refresher before diving into Season 3, here’s where things stand.
Season 1 introduced Jackie Howard, a Manhattan teenager who loses her entire family in a car accident and is sent to live with her late mother’s best friend Katherine Walter and the sprawling Walter family in rural Colorado.
She found herself caught between responsible, steady Alex and wild, impulsive Cole—and by the finale, things had gotten very complicated.
Season 2 picked up with Jackie returning to Silver Falls after spending the summer in New York, determined to repair things with Alex and put firm boundaries in place with Cole.
That plan lasted approximately as long as you’d expect. The season ended with one of the show’s most explosive moments, in which we saw Jackie and Cole confessing their love for each other, with Alex overhearing every word, before an ambulance arrived for Walter patriarch George Walter.
The fandom has been absolutely losing it ever since.
What Happens in Season 3?
Season 3 picks up right where that cliffhanger left off. Netflix is definitely billing it as “a fresh start, familiar faces, and impossible choices.”
With the love confession now out in the open and George’s health scare forcing the whole family to reckon with what matters most, both brothers redirect their energy in new directions.
Alex channels his feelings into joining a rodeo riding team, while Cole quite literally gets back in the driver’s seat when a drag racer named Mac spots his natural talent behind the wheel and brings him on to rebuild a racing engine.
And then there’s Eliot, Jackie’s childhood friend from New York and Uncle Richard’s new intern, whose arrival in Silver Falls starts pulling her back toward her old life just when she was beginning to plant roots in her new one. If you thought this love triangle was already complicated, Season 3 has something to say about that.
Three new cast members are joining the show this season. Chad Rook plays Mac, the drag racer who recognizes Cole’s raw skill.
Naveen Paddock plays Eliot, who brings a dose of New York sophistication back into Jackie’s world. And Erin Karpluk joins as Hannah, the long-absent mother of Isaac and Lee, whose unexpected return stirs up complicated feelings across the Walter household.
Now, What About My Life with the Walter Boys Season 4?
Here’s what makes this week’s news especially exciting: Season 4 was greenlit before Season 3 had even dropped.
Netflix confirmed the renewal at its Upfronts presentation in May, the second consecutive year the streamer has renewed the show before its pending season even premieres.
Filming is already underway back in Calgary, Cochrane, and Crossfield, Alberta, with a 2027 release almost certain.
Showrunner Melanie Halsall summed up the mood perfectly in her statement about the renewal:
“I know I speak for the writers, the cast and the crew when I say that it is beyond exciting to be returning to the world of Silver Falls for a fourth season. Our characters continue to grow and evolve, and we have so many delicious, romantic, sexy and messy stories to tell—I can’t wait to share them with our amazing audience, who have shown so much love for this show. We are all incredibly grateful and are thrilled to dive in.”
Halsall has previously shared that she has the series mapped out well beyond where it currently stands, which is very reassuring news for anyone who has emotionally invested in this love triangle.

If you haven’t read Ali Novak’s original novel yet, it’s still worth doing even at this stage.
The show has expanded well beyond the book’s story, but reading it gives you a different kind of attachment to Jackie—one that’s more interior, more rooted in her grief, and a little less filtered through the lens of a love triangle.
Either way, Silver Falls is waiting for you.
