On May 2, 2025, Deadline shared the official announcement that Shield of Sparrows was going to get a movie adaptation. This was before the book was even published, as it was released just 4 days later, on May 6!
Since it’s only been a couple of months, there hasn’t been any update regarding the status of the movie. So, there is no official release date yet!
The adaptation is still in the pre-production phase, but fans of Deveny Perry are thrilled to see her new romantic drama book come to life.
Who is the Cast & Crew in the Shield of Sparrows Movie?
Since the movie is currently in the earliest stages, no casting has been done, and there are no rumors either of who is being considered for the lead roles.
But considering that the Shield of Sparrows novel is one of the hottest books right now, fans are doing some interesting fan casting based on their personal preferences and who they think would be the perfect actor to play the role of the lead characters.

Carla Tyne will be working as the developmental director, with Devney Perry and Derek Kolstad working as executive producers.
